Prof. Dr. Bidhyanath Koirala

Prof. Dr. Bidhyanath Koirala

Prof. Koirala has more than 40 years of experience in the education and development sector of
Nepal. He holds advisory positions at various education and development organizations.  His
contribution in the education sector includes the development of a qualification framework for
university; development of curriculum and educational materials for the lower secondary and
secondary teacher teachers; research on marginal communities such as Dalit, girls, Muslim, and
language minorities; preparation of education plan in general and in specific areas at the
national, district, and local government levels; motivation of the teachers through teachers can
make difference; preparation of multilingual materials to address the learning needs of different language communities; supervising M. Phil, and Ph. D. students of different universities; enabling students and teachers to bridge cultural, religious, and scientific knowledge of the East and the West. He has also represented Nepal in various educational conferences and seminars in the international arena. Dr. Koirala holds a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta, Canada in International and Inter-Cultural Education.

Dr. Mahashram Sharma

Dr. Sharma holds a wide range of experience in strategic and policy level leadership in the education sector. He has a proven ability in the development, management, and direction of organizations, programs, and processes involving a diverse and complex range of partners and stakeholders. His expertise includes a macro and micro level of planning, programming, budgeting, and implementing national, regional as well as local-level education projects. He holds exemplary diplomatic and bureaucratic knowledge and has participated in missions like Joint Consultative Mission, Joint Annual Review Mission, and other bilateral and multilateral meetings. Dr. Sharma has worked in different roles and responsibilities in government organizations. He was the secretary of the Government of Nepal. He is also involved in research activities and social services in Education and other social sectors. He holds a Ph.D. in Education Leadership from Kathmandu University.

Mr. Bimal Kumar Phunyal

Dr. Acharya is Professor at Tribhuvan University. She is an advocate for gender and social inclusion in education. She has carried out multiple researches and project works on gender analysis, role, lifelong learning, higher education and contemporary educational issues. She has actively served as a co-author of a monograph on Literacy and Lifelong Learning in the backdrop of the federal system during her association with UNESCO.  Dr. Acharya is a University of Massachusetts graduate and holds Ed.D in International and Non-formal Education. 

Dr. Binay K Kushiyait

Dr. Binay K Kushiyait

Mr. Kushiyait has been working as Professor of Economics Education in Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He had completed PhD in Education from Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. He was Social Inclusion Research Fund (SIRF) Fellow in 2007, and completed the study on the topic " Social Exclusion in Education: A Study on School Dropouts in Terai and Hill districts of Nepal". During his academic and professional career he has also been entrusted by different national and international organizations for research, evaluation work, and gained substantial experiences in the field of teaching, research, and education planning and finance.  He has also served as curriculum development expert and has designed various teacher training curriculum in Nepalese universities. He holds distinguished membership positions at the Centre for Nepal Contemporary Studies, Nepal Economic Association and is a Chairperson at Curriculum Development Centre, MOE.
